Ingredients
  

White Gravy

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Casserole Base

  • 1 lb venison sausage sliced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables carrots, peas, corn, green beans
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes prepared
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a casserole dish.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  • Gradually whisk in milk, stirring continuously until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a separate pan, brown venison sausage slices until cooked through.
  • In the casserole dish, layer the cooked venison sausage, mixed vegetables, and prepared white gravy.
  • Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbling.
